At Davenport Medical Center, no-needle no-scalpel vasectomy services are provided every 2 months on special "Vasectomy Days" (Thursday afternoons) by Drs. Doug Stein and John Curington, who use no-needle local anesthesia and a no-scalpel technique. For exact dates, see their Outfield Schedule. More information about vasectomy is in the Vasectomy Page of The fee is $590, often covered by health insurance and Title 10 (see below). A deposit of $100 was required to be scheduled (see below). The counseling process can be done online by (1) reviewing our vasectomy page, (2) viewing the online counseling video, and (3) reading the vasectomy consent, which you will be asked to sign before your procedure. So only one visit is required, but you will have our office, home, and cell phone numbers so that you can always reach us if you have questions after your procedure. You will also be given a mailer, so that you can send a semen sample to our Tampa/Lutz office 12 weeks after your vasectomy to be sure that your semen is sperm-free. We also strongly encourage you to pre-register on our On-line Vasectomy Registration page.

Davenport Medical Center (DMC) is the office of Dr. Aftab Khan, who is kind enough to allow Drs. Curington and Stein to use his office periodically to provide vasectomy to couples in communities east of Orlando. DMC is located at 2500 Berry Boulevard, Davenport, FL 33897 just off US-27 about 6.2 miles north of I-4 and 3 miles south of US-192. It is just behind the Publix Super Market at Berry Town Center.

To schedule, please complete our online pre-registration, indicating your desired location and date from our SCHEDULE when prompted. Then call Dr. Stein and Curington's office at 813-536-1430 or 866-827-8463. Again, a deposit of $100 is required to be scheduled.  The deposit is fully refundable until 7 calendar days prior to the appointed vasectomy date, non-refundable thereafter for either cancellation or postponement. The deposit is paid during online pre-registration by providing a VISA/MasterCard number. Patients without credit cards can pick up single-use pre-paid cards at most discount stores.
Insurance usually covers vasectomy. To learn if your insurance plan does, please call the company and ask the 5 questions HERE.
The balance of the fee ($490 or your insurance company's allowable) is due on the day of the vasectomy, payable by cash or check to Dr. Douglas Stein. While we cannot accept credit or debit cards at DMC, you may pay the balance with Visa/MasterCard by calling our Tampa/Lutz office (813-536-1430) at least 1 day prior to the procedure during office hours, 9 AM - 4 PM.

If your vasectomy is paid for by an insurance company with which Drs. Stein and Curington are contracted providers, your deposit will be returned to you (less your required co-payment) when we are paid by your insurance company. Itemized and properly coded receipts are provided, and these may be submitted to insurance companies with which Drs. Stein and Curington are not contracted providers in an attempt to get reimbursement or credit toward your deductible. For questions about Medicaid, please click here. If you are a veteran, the VA may pay for your vasectomy, and Drs. Stein and Curington are providers for the VA. For more info about VA coverage, click HERE.
