On November 7, 2014, colleague Matthew Nessetti and I will participate in World Vasectomy by offering FREE vasectomies to men who are willing to share their stories (how they came to the realization that vasectomy was right for them) with camera crews and news media, in the same way that Australian men shared their stories during World Vasectomy Day 2013. See the video at www.worldvasectomyday.org.

Kissimmee, Florida will be this year's World Headquarters of WVD, but the goal is to have 250 vasectomists around the world perform 1500 vasectomies in at least 30 countries in the "Spirit of World Vasectomy Day", defined by these 10 Reasons.
The venue will be the modern and spacious new clinic of Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando in Kissimmee.
The clinic is at 610 Oak Commons Boulevard ...
... just across West Oak Street from the Osceola Regional Medical Center.
Facing Oak Street is a two-story reception area ...
... with a glass facade. This is where media will gather for photo ops and interviews.
Entry into the clinic is via covered walkway from the parking lot off Oak Commons Boulevard.
There are plenty of procedure rooms for several physicians to work simultaneously, including a few larger rooms where vasectomies may be performed in front of the media and live audiences (with full respect for patient modesty) as we did in Australia.
There are nice large areas where patients can relax after their vasectomies.
In one of the large conference rooms ... ... CEO Jenna Tosh is interviewed by the WVD staff.
Access (just off US-192) is easy via both Interstate-4 and the Florida Turnpike:

So we hope you will join us on World Vasectomy Day.
Jonathan Stack, Creator/Producer/Director of World Vasectomy Day; Jenna Tosh, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando; myself, Doug Stein, MD; and John Curington, MD, visiting vasectomist and enthusiastic promoter of WVD in San Diego, California.

28 men have volunteered to have their vasectomies on WVD and that is all that we can perform, so no more applications are being taken. Please see http://worldvasectomyday.org/doctors-2/ for a list of other Florida Vasectomy Doctors who are celebrating WVD. The steps below are left on this page only for reference:
  1. In the interest of full informed consent, please review the Vasectomy Page and watch the Counseling Video. Your vasectomy will be performed by me or by Dr. Matthew Nessetti, a very experienced vasectomist who was trained by me years ago and who uses the same No-Needle No-Scalpel Technique that I use.
  2. Understand that your vasectomy will not be private if you choose to have it in Kissimmee on WVD. Like the Australian men who had their vasectomies on WVD2013, you may be interviewed on camera by the media and by the staff of WVD. You may be featured in a documentary film about WVD2014. You may be offered the option of having your vasectomy performed in front of a live audience, but your modesty will be preserved with nothing exposed except for your scrotum. Please review the Release Form.
  3. If you would still like to proceed, please print the Release Form, one copy for each family member that will accompany you to WVD if you would like them to be included in your interviews with media and WVD Staff. Fill out and sign each form. Then you have 3 options:
    a. You may mail the signed Forms to Douglas Stein, MD; 3000 East Fletcher Avenue; Suite 330; Tampa, FL 33613; or
    b. You may scan the completed form(s) and e-mail them to vnelson@vasweb.com;
    or
    c. You  may fax the completed Form(s) to 813-971-9529.
  4. Register Online. When prompted, indicate November 7as your Vasectomy Date and Kissimmee as your Vasectomy Location. We ask for the deposit of $100, but this will be returned in the form of a personal check on Nov 7 after your vasectomy.
Thank you.
