Vasectomy in
Vero Beach, Florida:
serving Indian River, Brevard, and St. Lucie Counties
(Sebastian, Melbourne, Ft. Pierce, and nearby communities) |

|
Heron Pointe Medical Center
(HPMC) Suite 1
|
HPMC
Suite 1 is the office of
Dr. Noor Merchant, who is kind enough to allow
Dr. Doug Stein to use his office
periodically (on certain Friday mornings) to provide vasectomy services.
For exact dates, see Dr. Stein's Outfield
Schedule. The fee is $490.
A
deposit of $100 is required to be scheduled (see below).
The counseling process can be done online by (1) reviewing
Dr. Stein's vasectomy page, (2) viewing the
online counseling video, and
(3) reading the
vasectomy info sheet (this is a PDF file viewable with Acrobat Reader®, available here as
a free download if you don't already have a copy of Acrobat Reader® on your
computer).
So only one visit is required, but you will have Dr. Stein's
office, home, and cell phone numbers so that you can always reach him if
you have questions after your procedure. You will also be given a mailer,
so that you can send a semen sample to Dr.
Stein's Tampa office 8 weeks after your vasectomy to be sure
that your semen is sperm-free. |

Directions: |
|
From local coastal communities to the
south (Ft. Pierce), take US-1 (State
Road 5) north past downtown Vero Beach to 37th
Street. Heron Pointe Medical Center is on the northeast corner of the
intersection of US-1 with 37th Street
(Barber Avenue). Do not turn onto 37th Street, but rather go through
the intersection and turn right onto 37th Place just beyond HPMC (see
the photos below). |

US-1 from the south |

From local coastal communities to the
north (Sebastian), take US-1 (State
Road 5) south to 37th Street. The entry into the Heron Pointe
Medical Center from the north is a little tricky because, if you go
south to the intersection of US-1 and
37th Street and turn left (eastbound) onto 37th Street, you will not
be able to turn into the HPMC. (Only cars on 37th Street that are
westbound can enter.) |
 |
|
So turn left one street before
the 37th Street traffic light onto 37th Place, then |
 |
|
proceed along the back side of
the HPMC, and turn right at the end of the complex. |
|
From distant
communities to the north and south, take
I-95 to Exit 147. Go
east on State Road 60. To avoid the traffic lights and congestion of
downtown Vero Beach, it is much easier to go around town to the north.
Travel on State Road 60 3.3 miles from I-95 to 66th Avenue (County
Road 615). Turn left (north) on 66th Avenue and drive 2 miles north to
41st Street (also known as County Road 630 and S. Gifford Road). Turn
right (east) on 41st Street and drive 3.4 miles to
US-1. Turn right (south) on
US-1 and drive 0.5 miles to the small
road on the left just before the 37th Street traffic light. Then
follow the photos directly above.HPMC on 37th Street.
Alternatively, you may stay on State Road 60 to
Atlantic Boulevard (see map), which
will lead past the Indian River County Health
Department to 26th Street
which will lead to US-1.
From the south, you may save a few miles if you get off
I-95 at Exit
138. Take Indrio Road 2.2 miles east to
Emerson Avenue (27th Avenue), then
turn left (north) and take Emerson all the way to
Atlantic Boulevard (about 8.4 miles). Turn right on
Atlantic. It is 0.5 miles to the Health Department, then you may
continue on 26th Street to US-1, then turn left and go north to HPMC
at 37th Street. |
|
From the barrier island
communities across the Indian River to the east, take the State
Road 60 (Beachland Boulevard) Bridge or the State Road 656 (East
Causeway Boulevard) Bridge (not shown on the map above) to
Indian River Boulevard (County Road 603).
Go right (north) on Indian River Boulevard
to 37th Street. Turn left (west) on 37th Street and drive 1 mile to
the HPMC on your right. |
