The
St. Lucie County Health Department
(SLCHD)
offers
Title
10 coverage (financial
assistance) for men
who qualify based upon income and family size. |
1. Please call
772-462-3800.
Select "1" for English, then select "1" to select Make an
Appointment, then select "1" again to specify a Clinical
Appointment. You will be asked for your Date of Birth, Name, and
Social Security Number. This is so that the Health Department can
check their records to see whether you are already in their
system. After a short hold, the scheduler will return and offer
you an appointment, either morning or afternoon, in either Ft.
Pierce or Port St. Lucie, your choice. Because of Health Department staff changes, some may be unaware of
the Title 10 vasectomy program. If you have any difficulty, please
call the office of Dr. Doug Stein, vasectomy services provider for
the SLCHD at 813-972-1365.
2. At your appointment, you will receive vasectomy counseling and financial screening
to receive financial assistance under the Title 10 program. If
eligible for assistance and if you would like to proceed with a
vasectomy, you will sign a consent at that time.
3. You will be referred to
Dr. Doug Stein who will perform your
vasectomy at the
Heron Pointe Medical Center in Vero Beach at
least 30 days after the date on which you signed your consent. Dr.
Stein performs vasectomies in Vero Beach every 8 weeks or so (see
his schedule) and
appointments are made by calling his office at 813-972-1365.
