(Ten) coverage of vasectomy
services is available for low-income men on a sliding scale.
Vasectomy services
are provided under contract with Planned Parenthood at the PP Sarasota
facility on Prospect Street. Inquiry calls are
apparently received through the social services office and referred to the nurse
practitioner in charge of family planning. A financial screening visit at the clinic at 2200 Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34237 is followed
by a visit to Planned Parenthood for counseling. At least 30 days after the
counseling visit, the vasectomy is performed at Planned Parenthood where partner consent is not necessary. Planned Parenthood
will also provide each vasectomy patient with a mailer to send in a semen sample
so that a return trip to the clinic is not necessary.
