Pinellas County has the premier county
vasectomy program in Florida, with a special Men's Health phone line,
a dedicated administration, and a
nurse (Florence "Flo" Concklin, RN) whose full-time preoccupation is
promotion and administration of the program.
Vasectomy counseling is provided in group sessions on a variety of weekdays and at various times at the health department clinics in St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Pinellas Park, Tarpon Springs, and Largo. Vasectomies are performed by Dr. Doug Stein at the Largo Center on the second or third Friday each month. Partner consent is not required. As at all county health departments, patients must sign consent more than 30 days prior to the vasectomy procedure. |
